Terms of Use
Last updated: 27 August 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Workolo Entertainments (PAN AUNPG2336E), 191/6, Lamech Street, Janaki Nagar, Valasaravakkam, Chennai 600087, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Raag Finder website and application at raagfinder.com (the "Service").
By creating an account, purchasing credits, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Disclaimer and Cookie Policy. If you do not accept them, you must not use the Service.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
- The registered account holder must be 18 years of age or older and legally competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
- If you use the Service on behalf of an institution, school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these Terms.
- A minor may use the Service only under the supervision of, and through the account of, an adult account holder who accepts full responsibility for that use.
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep them current. One person should maintain one account; duplicate accounts created to obtain additional free credits may be closed without notice.
2. What Raag Finder is (and is not)
Raag Finder is an experimental, early-stage tool that attempts to estimate the closest Hindustani or Carnatic raag for a melody supplied by live microphone recording ("Listen") or by file upload ("Upload"). Depending on the analysis, the Service may also:
- separate an uploaded recording into vocal, accompaniment and lead-instrument stems using third-party AI;
- estimate the tonic (Sa), swaras, phrases and note timeline, and show your pitch live while you sing;
- ask you to wear headphones and pass an acoustic headphone check before live singing, and play a tanpura drone to help you hold the tonic;
- ask you to confirm or correct the detected tonic before a submission is processed;
- request a second opinion from a third-party AI language model;
- save your analyses and stems to your account for later viewing, let you name each recording, and let you download a Raag Analysis Report as an HTML or PDF file;
- let you explore a raag database and community contributions;
- host a community Forum for discussion, including paid recruitment posts;
- list you (optionally) in the Connect member directory and let members exchange connect requests, private chat messages, voice notes and file attachments; and
- offer a live support chat with our administrator, available to signed-in members and to visitors who verify an email address with a one-time code.
Every output is a best-effort statistical estimate and may be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent between runs. The Service is provided for education, practice and entertainment only. It is not an authority on music theory and must not be relied upon for examinations, publications, certification, competition results, commercial decisions, or any claim of musicological fact. See the Disclaimer.
3. Accounts and security
- Analysis features require a signed-in account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your password confidential.
- Sign-in, sign-up and password reset are protected by a human-verification check. You must not attempt to bypass, automate or defeat it.
- Notify us immediately at admin@workolo.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
- You may delete your account at any time by writing to admin@workolo.com. Deletion removes your profile, uploads, stems and saved analyses; unused credits are forfeited and are not refunded.
4. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:
- upload audio you do not own or are not licensed or otherwise permitted to submit;
- upload or post content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, hateful, harassing, infringing, misleading, or that violates any person's privacy or publicity rights;
- scrape, crawl, mirror, or bulk-extract the raag database, community content, or any other part of the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset or model;
- use bots, scripts, headless browsers or automated pipelines to run analyses, create accounts, or generate votes, comments or suggestions;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source, models, prompts or algorithms of the Service, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with the credit system, payment flow, rate limits, access controls, or any security or authentication mechanism;
- probe, scan or stress-test the Service or its infrastructure, or introduce malware or any harmful code;
- resell, sublicense, rent, or otherwise commercialise access to the Service or to credits without our prior written consent;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any artist or institution.
5. Credits, pricing and payment
- 1 credit = 1 analysis. Credits are consumed when an analysis is started, whether by Listen, Upload or re-analysis, and irrespective of whether you consider the result correct or useful.
- Some community actions also cost credits: sending a Connect request costs 1 credit (free or paid), and posting a recruitment topic on the Forum costs 3 paid credits. The credit cost of an action is always shown to you before you confirm it.
- A Connect request can be withdrawn within 2 minutes of sending, in which case the credit is returned to your balance automatically and the recipient is not notified. Once that window closes the credit is consumed — whether the request is accepted, declined or ignored — and you cannot send a new request to the same member for 24 hours after a withdrawal.
- What a credit unlocks depends on its kind. A free credit produces a result that is public to the community and accepts a clip of up to 45 seconds. A paid credit keeps the result private and accepts a clip of up to 120 seconds. Longer uploads must be trimmed in the app before you confirm the submission.
- Credits are sold in packs. In India, 10 credits cost INR 100 and are paid in Indian Rupees through the PhonePe gateway. Outside India, 20 credits cost $3.00 USD and are paid in US Dollars through PayPal. Which option you see is determined by the country of residence saved on your profile, which you can change on the Credits page. Applicable taxes, and any conversion or cross-border fee charged by your bank or PayPal, are as shown at checkout or applied by your provider.
- Payments are collected by Workolo Entertainments through its checkout at workolo.com using a third-party payment gateway. We do not receive or store your card, UPI, PayPal or bank credentials.
- Unpaid orders. An order is created before you reach the payment page. If it is not paid, it stays pending, is automatically re-checked against the gateway, and is marked "payment not completed" if it remains unpaid. We may then close such an order, in which case it stops appearing in your purchases; the record is retained and can be reopened if a payment is later traced. No credits are granted for an unpaid order, and closing one is not a refund. You are notified by in-app bell and email at each step.
- Credits are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use a paid feature. They are not money, not a deposit, not a stored-value instrument, carry no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Credits do not expire while your account remains active. They lapse without compensation if your account is closed by you or terminated for breach of these Terms.
- We may change prices, pack sizes, the credit cost of a feature, or introduce subscription plans at any time. Changes apply to future purchases only. Free or promotional credits are gifts, may be withdrawn if abused, and create no entitlement to further grants.
- Reward credits. We may grant credits for activity such as sharing a result with the community, keeping your profile complete, or keeping your Connect listing visible for 30 days in a row (currently 10 credits). Rewards are promotional, are subject to the caps and conditions shown in the app, may be changed or ended at any time, and may be reversed where the qualifying activity is reversed, artificial or abusive.
- An invoice or receipt bearing a reference code is available for each purchase in your Credits page.
6. No refunds
Once payment is made it is non-refundable under any circumstance. Because every analysis consumes paid third-party compute, storage and bandwidth the moment it runs, and because the result is an estimate that may be wrong or undesired, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, cash-outs, or partial refunds for unused credits.
Credits are consumed when an analysis runs. If the result contains an error, is inaccurate or is not the raag you expected, the credits already consumed are retained and the amount paid is not returned. The only exceptions — duplicate charges and payments captured without credits being delivered — are set out in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
The automatic return of a credit when you withdraw a Connect request within its 2-minute undo window (Section 5), and the automatic return of a credit when our detection engine fails to complete a run, are built-in product features, not refunds of any payment.
Closing an order that was never paid (Section 5) is likewise not a refund: no money was received for it and no credits were granted.
7. Your content and the licence you grant us
"Your Content" means audio you record or upload, separated stems derived from it, analysis results, profile details, avatars, comments, mood suggestions, votes, video links, forum topics and replies, connect requests, and the chat messages, voice notes and attachments you exchange with other members.
- You retain ownership of Your Content. You warrant that you own it or hold all rights and permissions necessary to submit it, including from any performer, composer, lyricist or rights holder involved.
- Every recording is screened against a commercial audio database before it is analysed or shared. If it matches a known commercial release, the upload is blocked, the archived file is removed, and the credit used for the analysis is consumed. You may not submit commercial recordings, copyrighted songs, or studio releases you do not own, even if the match is partial.
- An analysis can only be shared publicly if the copyright status is clear and you have confirmed the ownership declaration at submission. Results that fail the copyright screen remain private and cannot be made public.
- You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, process and create derived data (such as stems, pitch tracks and feature vectors) from Your Content, solely to operate, secure, support and improve the Service.
- An analysis run on a free credit is public to the community; an analysis run on a paid credit is private by default. Where an analysis is public, you grant us and other users the right to view that analysis, its result, the name you gave the recording, and your display name and avatar within the community areas of the Service. Where the tier allows it, you can change the visibility at any time.
- You may give each recording a name of your choosing. Do not use a name that is misleading, offensive, or that discloses personal information you do not want shown. Reports you export (HTML or PDF) are copies you control once downloaded; we cannot recall them.
- Your listing in the Connect directory is off unless you switch it on. If you switch it on, your profile details — including city, talents, languages, occupation and any Talent-Demo video links you add — become visible to other signed-in members. You can unlist yourself at any time.
- Comments, mood suggestions and video suggestions you post are public by nature and may remain visible after posting; you may edit or delete your own contributions.
- Connect chat messages, voice notes and attachments are not published to other members or to the public. They are, however, visible to our administrator and may be read for moderation, abuse investigation, safety, support, or where required by law. Do not treat Connect chat as a confidential or encrypted channel.
- When a connect request between you and another member is accepted, your registered email address is revealed to that member. Anything further you choose to share is at your own discretion and risk.
- We may use aggregated and de-identified statistics derived from usage to improve detection quality. Where community validation flags an analysis as correct, it may be used to improve our models; you may opt out by keeping analyses private or writing to admin@workolo.com.
8. Community, moderation and support chat
Community moods, comments, votes and suggested performance or explanation videos are contributed by users. They are opinions, not verified facts, and we do not endorse them. Suggested videos are reviewed by an administrator before publication, but review is not a guarantee of accuracy, rights clearance or suitability.
We may edit, hide, remove or refuse any contribution, and restrict any account, at our discretion and without prior notice, where we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been breached.
The Forum and Connect areas rely on information members provide about themselves. We do not verify members' identities, qualifications, credentials or intentions, and we are not a party to — and accept no liability for — any lesson, collaboration, engagement, payment or meeting arranged between members. You interact and deal with other members entirely at your own risk.
Flagging and enforcement. You can flag a public analysis, a comment, a forum post, or a member who approaches you through Connect for the wrong reasons. Flags are reviewed by an administrator, who may remove content, temporarily block an account, or permanently close it. Records of blocked or closed accounts are archived rather than erased where we are required or entitled to retain them, so that repeat abuse can be identified. Report anything urgent to admin@workolo.com.
Live support chat. Support chat is available to signed-in members and to visitors who verify an email address with a one-time code sent to it. It is a support channel only: nothing said in it is musicological, legal, financial or professional advice, and no statement in chat varies these Terms or the Refund Policy. Never paste passwords, card numbers, one-time banking codes or other sensitive credentials into chat. Chats are answered by our administrator, who may use AI assistance to draft a reply before sending it. Transcripts, along with queue and wait timings, are retained for support quality, dispute handling and abuse prevention. We may end or refuse chat access where it is abused.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, interface, logo, name, database compilations, code, models and documentation are owned by Workolo Entertainments or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you. Underlying raag knowledge is traditional and not claimed by us; our compilation, presentation and derived data are.
You may use analysis outputs generated from your own recordings for your personal, educational or internal purposes. You may not present them as an authoritative or certified determination, or as endorsed by us.
10. Third-party services
Operating the Service relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, email delivery, human verification, payment processing, AI/ML processing and embedded media. By using the Service you acknowledge that relevant data, including your audio and account information, may be transmitted to these providers as necessary to operate the Service.
We do not publicly disclose our specific vendor list. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their availability, acts or omissions. Embedded third-party video content is governed by the respective platform's terms and is not hosted or endorsed by us.
11. Complaints, copyright and takedown
If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights or is otherwise unlawful, write to our Grievance Officer with the URL or reference code, a description of the content, the basis of your complaint, and your contact details:
Nidheesh Gopalan, Grievance Officer
nidheesh@workolo.com
191/6, Lamech Street, Janaki Nagar, Valasaravakkam, Chennai 600087, Tamil Nadu, India
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
12. No warranty
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that any raag identification, tonic estimate, stem separation, AI opinion or community content is accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose, or that the Service will be free of errors, downtime or data loss.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we, our directors, employees and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, reputation, or loss or corruption of data or audio, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if advised of the possibility.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you actually paid to us in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
14. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, demand, loss, liability, fine or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, misused the credit or payment system, initiated a chargeback without first contacting us, or created risk or legal exposure for us or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licences, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity and governing law — survive.
Enforcement may take the form of a temporary block, which prevents sign-in and hides your public contributions until it is lifted, or a permanent closure of the account. Fake, duplicate or impersonating accounts, and accounts created to farm free or reward credits, may be blocked or closed without notice, and any credits on them are forfeited.
16. Deactivation and account deletion
You may ask us to delete your account at any time from the Delete account page, or by writing to admin@workolo.com from your registered email address. Deletion is not immediate; it works as follows:
- Immediate deactivation: on request, your account is deactivated at once, you are signed out, and your profile, community contributions and analyses stop being accessible through the Service.
- 90-day cooling-off period: your data is retained, but unused, for 90 days from the date of the request. This period protects you against accidental or unauthorised deletion and allows us to resolve disputes, chargebacks and abuse investigations.
- Automatic reactivation: if you sign in again at any point within those 90 days, your account is reactivated automatically and the pending deletion is cancelled. If you later request deletion again, a fresh 90-day period begins from that new request.
- Permanent deletion: if you do not sign in within the 90-day period, your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Credits are forfeited: any unused credits are cancelled on deactivation and are not refundable or transferable, consistent with Section 6.
- What we may retain: invoices, payment, tax and accounting records that we are required to keep by law; security and abuse logs; and community content that has been anonymised or aggregated so that it no longer identifies you. Backups are purged on their normal rotation cycle.
- Accounts we deactivate: where we suspend or terminate an account under Section 15, the same 90-day retention window may apply before permanent deletion, except where a longer period is required for legal or security reasons.
Details of what personal data we hold, and for how long, are set out in our Privacy Policy.
17. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
The Service is under active development. Features, models, limits and pricing may change, be paused, or be withdrawn at any time. We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
18. General
- Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including provider outages, network failures, strikes, government action or natural events.
- Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- No waiver: failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganisation or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement: these Terms together with the linked policies form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Language: the English version of these Terms prevails over any translation.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights you may have, the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably by writing to admin@workolo.com.
